GREETING OF SHIN-NIKKEIJIN NETWORK Association, Cebu Inc
After the end of the World War II, we have one goal in stepping forward
and holding on together, aiming for good relationship and friendship between
Japan and Philippines.
Then we, Shin-Nikkeijin (Japino-born after World War II) with Filipina mothers who are separated from their Japanese Fathers,
stand up for this purpose together with Japanese experts who supported
this organization project. This Japino's are financially incapable and helpless in their daily needs. Most of them
can not eat 3 times a day, normally enough.
As of 2004, there are aleady 60,307 Shin-Nikkeijin (Japinos) recorded in (Japan Government Statistics Sensus) has a Japanese Nationality,
both living in Japan and Philippines. But these estimation of approximately
30,000 Japino's staying in the Philippines are only bearing Philippine Nationality, therefore,
a rough calculation of 100,000 populations or more. However, adding new
born babies are born 10,000 annually. Japan's population (new era) already
started reducing since last year, 2005. Therefore, they Japino's become a good popularized source of "workable immigrant" that
we can expect. Recalling back the end of the World War II in 1945, Japan
suffered war damage of approximately 100,000 orphans, street urchins and
people died from severe famine. This was the actual situation in Japan
60 years ago. Hard work and unity made the Japanese people to stand up
and revived their economic situation.
SNN inaugurated on February 24, 2006 and started its operation on the 27th.
We had a good and wide endorsement program through local T.V., radio and
newspaper.. One of the local largest T.V. network in Cebu, ABS-CBN aired
us live in their morning show (Maayong Buntag Kapamilya on March 14, 2006
at 6:30 A.M.) with me (Oka, Akira), Japinos and their mothers, and GMA T.V. network during their evening news (Balitang
Bisdak at 6:00 P.M.), 5 local (Bisaya) radio stations and newspaper (Sunstar
Daily). Posters of SNN were posted on Churches, Barangays and provinces.
Those promotions made a positive reactionsand good response. Phone ringing
continuously in the office for inquiries and walk-in applicants. Had a
long day consultation, everyday is always a busy day. Japino children calling me "Papa Oka. In Japan side, promotion also started
covering reports by T.V. and radio (NHK) and (T.V. Asahi) and newspaper
(Mainichi), (Yumiuri), (Chunichi), (Shizuoka).
After all the promotion program had been aired, SNN members currently has a total of approximately 400 members as of August
2006.; 260 (children) and 140 (mothers). . A rough estimate of (50%) members
